Value of Office 2016
MS Office 2016.
Office 2016 is unlike other version upgrades; it is a complete collaboration solution that will work well with business that are serious about collaboration in the cloud. As it is a given these days that the average Office user could potentially have documents in the Cloud. Selecting a document > Printing > Highlighting with a marker… this is now ancient. The new collaborative Office 2016 is about how people do things these days… from community groups, projects to the enterprise everyone shares. So instead of back and forth email attachments everything is encouraged to be done within your own common secure portal so the use of Microsoft 365 as the platform is highly encouraged.
Office 2016 is far richer than the Google Apps. My belief is that if you are a business then this is the only way forward. Let’s take a simple example; one need to do a presentation to a Client that include past commercial history, a formal document, a presentation to their team and you need a bit of input from some of your team members who are outside your main office and you need input from your external accountants. Microsoft Office will do this nicely; A PowerPoint rich presentation, the numbers will be hyperlinked with Excel so the data is all current, a Word document to leave behind, your local and external teams have contributed to the presentation as you are all using MS 365, finally the appointment is scheduled via Outlook.
So, the bottom line seriously review what you do and see how MS Office 2016 can be of the tool of preference when you are collaborating. You can have two or more people working on the same document simultaneously. This is a fantastic feature within the One Drive storage. One thing I liked was the Excel interface has not changed much, I hate learning new frames. A real advantage with excel is that now you can have online data streams to your excel sheets in real time, it is a more cloud connected update.
A home or a business can still purchase the Standalone version for less than AUS $330, the online version AUD $15 or $ 55+ depending on your needs. The $ 300 product is a standalone, so next upgrade you will need to make another purchase whereas the online version you always will have the current version and much more. You can maintain easy communication, share and track your documentation, maintain a current copy between all your access a Windows PC, Tablet or a Smart Mobile. So, bottom line is you can maintain your collaboration with all your devices. Sounds good?
Considering that only Microsoft has a rich interface that is easy to drive compared to other vendors in the market, I believe it is inevitable that the business need to upgrade to Office 2016 sooner or later. So, sooner you have tested the application platform it will be easy for your own business.
